TEACHERS OF THE YEAR 2026-2027
Congratulations to our 2026-2027 Teachers of the Year! We are excited to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Kid Stars Rising Academy's students and their families!
From bottom row left to right: Mrs. Powell is our Primary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Snow Powell retired from Hoke County Schools after twenty years of dedicated service, during which she held roles as a Pre-K Teacher Assistant, After-School Care Program Staff, and Child Nutrition Assistant. Most recently, she has served two years as our first-grade teacher at Kid Stars Rising. She takes great pleasure in nurturing children and supporting their development.
Mrs. Holmes is our Elementary Teacher of the Year. She taught in the North Carolina Public School System for 21 years. She also worked in the New York Public School System for 16 years. She has retired from both systems with a total of 37 successful years of teaching. For the past two years, Mrs. Holmes has worked at Kid Stars Rising Academy as our highly qualified fifth grade teacher. Mrs. Holmes is currently certified to teach in both states in the following areas: Birth-2 years old, Kindergarten-6th grade, EC (Exceptional Children)-General and Adaptive Curriculum K-6. She received and continues to maintain her National Board Certification since 2002. Her philosophy is that all children can and will learn as their individual needs are met.
Mrs. Parsley is our Secondary Teacher of the Year. She has taught all grade levels from K-12 for over thirty years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (Grades K-9), with additional certifications in Language Arts and Math. She is also certified and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology. Mrs. Parsley has extensive experience teaching intermediate and high school students science and math. She enjoys inspiring her students to explore the world of Artificial Intelligence and how it relates to our everyday experiences.
