Hello! My name is Shelia Wood Council, and I am delighted to serve as the PK/K teacher at Kids Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy. My passion is creating a loving, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to learn. I believe that all children can learn and succeed when given the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to grow. My goal is to help each child develop academically, socially, and spiritually while building a strong foundation for future success.
Continual learning has always been an important part of my educational journey. I currently hold several Bachelor's Degrees and/or certifications in the following areas: Elementary Education (K-6), Intermediate Education (Grades 4-6), Middle Grades Language Arts (Grades 6-9), Middle Grades Physical Education (Grades 6-9), and Business Education (Grades 9-12).
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my church family, participating in church activities, being with family and friends, reading, and cheering on my favorite football, basketball, and baseball teams.
I am married to Mac Council, and together we have one daughter, Shelia Marie, who is married to Aaron Russ. We are proud grandparents to two wonderful grandsons, Allister and Gaston. Our family is truly one of God's greatest blessings.
I look forward to partnering with families and watching our little learners grow, explore, and thrive throughout the school year. We are going to have a wonderful and exciting year together.
