Dr. Simmons has twenty years of experience working in the field of education. She is a licensed classroom teacher and former school administrator in North Carolina Public Schools. She has earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville Technical Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6), and a Master of School Administration, both from Fayetteville State University. Her Doctor of Education (Educational Leadership) was conferred upon her in August 2018 from Gardner-Webb University. Dr. Simmons has a heart for children and their success is her passion. She has worked as a lead teacher in the children's church ministry at various churches for over thirty years . Dr. Simmons has also served as a Christian Education Director.
Dr. Simmons has taken several years of Spanish throughout her middle school, high school, and college years. She loves the language and is excited to take on her new role of Spanish I teacher this year.
