Me llamo Gekni Blue. Nací y crecí en Fayetteville, Carolina del Norte, en una familia militar orgullosa: mi padre sirvió 25 años en las Fuerzas Armadas y mi madre dedicó su carrera a las Escuelas del Condado de Cumberland.
Growing up in this environment instilled in me the values of discipline, responsibility, and service from an early age. I am a proud alumna of Terry Sanford Senior High School, where I laid the academic foundation for my future. As a mother of four daughters, I have always been deeply committed to nurturing and supporting the next generation.
My passion for working with children began in 1989, when I started caring for the children of military families. This formative experience sparked a lifelong dedication to youth education and care. For 15 years, I served as a Site Director for the Cumberland County Schools’ Prime Time program. In this role, I had the privilege of guiding and mentoring countless children, helping to shape their early educational experiences and supporting families in my community. My work was more than a career—it was by a calling that reflected my commitment to service and to fostering growth and opportunity for young people.
